FPD,an electric construction and power advisory services company, is seeking an Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the electric construction (prefer power plant/power generation industry). Solid knowledge of power plant construction, product design and engineering execution processes with previous experience in a lead technical role. At a minimum, need experience as a Project Engineer working on power plant EPC projects. Experience working on power plant design projects for an Engineering company, Utility, Services company or OEM in the power industry is required.

Candidate needs to work as a member of the Project Manager's team from contract initiation through warranty close-out, ensuring that electrical construction is well-integrated with overall project execution. Candidate will also provide technical guidance/input during bid stage, including participation in contract negotiations.

Candidate will perform electrical construction and engineering for power and gas turbine plant modifications and additions to existing installations. Candidate will prepare electrical engineering calculations, load analysis, short circuit, voltage drop in support of modifications, perform modification cost benefit analysis, & prepare major electrical equipment procurement specifications (Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, MCC, Motors, Cables, etc.) and construction specifications, perform technical bid evaluations, provide recommendations prepare requisitions to purchasing. BS degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical preferred and MN PE license required. Must be familiar with Timberline, construction accounting platforms, Primavera, Access, Word, Excel.

Qualifications

  • Minnesota State PE License is required.
  • BSEE from an accredited U. S. Engineering College with Power Engineering Courses preferred.
  • 5+ years in engineering/construction management.
  • Estimating experience in both direct and indirect cost.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of construction schedules, cost control systems, & contract administration procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, strong organization/time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Candidate must have strong digital applications skills.
